London Underground

The Backstory

The London Underground is a vast and complex underground rapid transit system that serves London and some neighboring areas. It is one of the world’s oldest and most extensive metro networks, with multiple lines and stations, making it a critical component of London’s public transportation infrastructure.

The LED lighting system must be kept up to date to enhance energy efficiency, lower operational expenses, bolster safety measures, reduce environmental footprint, and cultivate a more welcoming and comfortable ambiance for passengers. These improvements are particularly critical as the London Underground maintains its role as a cornerstone of London’s transportation network.

What they needed

Transport for London (TfL sought our expertise to undertake a comprehensive LED lighting upgrade initiative for multiple stations within the extensive network of the London Underground.

This project encompassed a holistic approach, involving the enhancement of lighting solutions not only in prominent areas like platforms but also in less visible sections such as front and back of house areas, as well as restrooms and other essential facilities.

What we did for them

Our collaboration with TfL aimed not only to improve energy efficiency and aesthetics but also to ensure the safety, comfort, and functionality of these vital public spaces throughout the underground transportation system.
